Recipe Please

Last updated 4 October 2026

Privacy policy

This policy explains what Recipe Please saves when you use the app or this website, why it is saved, and how to remove it. Recipe Please is published at needtherecipe.com. “We” means Recipe Please.

An account is required. Signing in uses an email link. There is no password.

1. What we save

When you create an account and use the app, we save:

Text size, appearance, and units stay on the phone. They are not copied to your account.

If you turn on a cooking timer or the weekly reminder, the phone schedules that notification. If you turn on hands-free cooking, the phone listens for “next” and “back”. That audio is used in the moment to move between steps. It is not saved and it is not sent to us.

This website does not use tracking cookies and does not ask you to create an account.

2. How we use it

We use this information to run the app: sign you in, keep your recipes and meal plan, build the grocery list, and bring that information back when you sign in on another phone.

If a recipe matches an allergy you listed, the app shows a cooking notice. That notice is not medical advice.

We also use your email to reply if you write to us, including feedback sent from the app.

3. Where it lives

A copy stays on the phone. The same account information is stored in Google Firebase, under your account, so it can follow you to another phone. Firebase is operated by Google. The servers may be outside the country you live in.

4. Who else sees it

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.

Google processes the account data as the host of Firebase, so the app can sign you in and store what is listed above. We do not give your recipes, meal plan, or preferences to anyone else for their own use.

If a paid plan is offered later, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment. Recipe Please does not collect card numbers.

5. How long we keep it

We keep the account information while the account exists. Settings includes Delete account. That removes the login and the saved email, preferences, recipes, meal plan, grocery checkmarks, and notes from the phone and from Firebase.

You can also write to contact@needtherecipe.com and ask for the account to be deleted. We will delete it unless we have to keep a record to meet a legal duty.

6. Children

Recipe Please is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will delete it.

7. Security

The account is protected by the email sign-in link, and the saved information is stored so only that account can read it. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the app after that date means the updated policy applies.

9. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request to access or delete your account, can be sent to contact@needtherecipe.com.
